Articles of Promotion

Article Marketing, Bum Marketing and many other types of Internet Marketing stress the importance of the article, the written word and the message that is contained. Most of the people who are doing this are concentrating their efforts on one particular concept while many others have absolutely no idea what they are missing out on. Articles not only can and should be used for promotions but are an excellent opportunity to get in some shameless self-promotion while generating some great PR rewards as well.

No, we are not talking about private rights here; we are talking about public relations. People want to find the experts to get information from. They do not want someone that knows a little bit about something to try and teach them. Think about it, would you want someone who knows only how to change the oil in your vehicle to attempt to teach you how to repair the camshaft or teaching you how to grind the block out properly for an engine rebuild?

People want an expert, plain and simple. Writing a couple of articles will not make you an expert on something though. Writing thousands of articles on something will not make you an expert if you do not do any research or at least make an honest effort to learn something about the subject matter. Many people still do make money this way however and for some people it will actually work very well. Still, there remains a lot to be said for someone making money from the efforts of others, not to mention the fact that much of the information that they provide people may be outdated, incorrect or even dangerous in some instances.

So how do you make a name for yourself without posting literally thousands of articles about your subject and spending so much time working that you do not have any time left to monetize your site? Keyword concentration is a good thing but not the way you may think at first glance. Concentrate on a keyword phrase that is oft-searched but not covered very much by the search engines. While there are many methods of doing this, doing a simple Google search with the keyword phrase in quotes should show you how many actual results there are for that particular phrase.

If you are willing to put in some time researching this and looking around for phrases that convey an interest in your product or information you can quickly gain top rankings for search phrases or "long tailed keywords" that will generate literally thousands and sometimes tens of thousands of responses and clicks onto your site each and every month. If you can accomplish this for a few different related subjects and have relevant information up on your site and in some of the more popular article directories, you will quickly see increased traffic to your site and profits in your pockets.

It is good to remember that all of the different aspects of Internet Marketing rely heavily on the written word but that does not mean that you have to become an expert in each and every field or spend so much time writing that you will not have any time left to make money. Concentrating your writing efforts will produce more positive results than simply "shot-gunning" vast amounts of worthless information out onto the World Wide Web. Once you have begun to see the real results, you can begin promoting more than just your web site with your articles. Your articles can provide a very strong backbone for all of your sales and promotions no matter how you are monetizing your web site.
