Optimize Your Pages For Better Search Engine Results

I can't tell you the amount of people that come to me wondering why their website is not showing up on the Search Engines when they have spent so much time and money on making their site look great and when I look at their site they have a PageRank of 0 (Zero), Why do they have a Zero PageRank? Because they have only done half the job.

PageRank is all about Optimizing your website so the Search Engines know what your site is all about Page by Page,so when somebody taps in a Keyword, the Search Engine knows if you have that product or information about that product, its like, lets say you have rented an empty store on Rodeo Drive the first thing you do is furnish it, you don't want the passers by seeing what's going on until the store looks great and ready for business, so you cover the windows until its fully furnished you have all your great products on the shelves ready for sale, you have put a big sign above the door with your name on it " CLAIRE'S" So you open the doors and wait for your customers to come pouring in,"Ah wait a minute almost forgot to uncover the windows " " how silly would that be? No-one would be able to see in" well that's exactly what your doing with your website with low or no PageRank.

"Well I had my site built by a web designer so I don't need to worry about That." Wrong! Just because you have had your site build by a professional it does not mean they have Optimized your site, because they build great websites it doesn't mean they are an expert in SEO.

Before we start there is a tool that will make it easier to see you results, so it you want to see your results straight away download the Google toolbar it's Free and it comes with a Page Ranker.

So here's what you do, start with your TITLE TAGS they are at the very top of your browser on the left hand side, these are the main things Google look at for keywords, each page should have a different TITLE TAG relevant to that particular page, you should choose three different keywords for each individual page, some people have more but if you stick to three you won't go far wrong, the reason I say this is because people think if i put the same keyword in ten times i will come up on the Search Engine for that word every-time "WRONG" Google will see that as you are trying to mislead them and ban your site from Google so Don't do it.

Place the three Keyword on the HTML page between the TITLE and TITLE

Now META TAGS, the meta tags are used to describe your page NOT your SITE this is the description people will see in the search engine listings when one of the keyword you put in your Title Tag is triggered, so do a description for each and every page just like the TITLE TAGS and incorporate the keywords in your Title Tags into your Meta Tags.

Place the Meta Tag description on the HTML page between the Meta and Meta

Once you have done the Title Tags and The Meta Tags for each page check the Google toolbar for the PageRank of that page you should be looking to achieve a PageRank of at least 5, so play around with different keywords and description until you get somewhere near the PageRank you are looking for.
