The Frustrated Marketer Tries To Grasp Search Engine Marketing Strategies

Who wants to be a statistic? Well frustrated marketers don't because that would put them in the percentage of Internet marketers that are not succeeding with their online home business, but give that frustrated marketer a search engine marketing strategies course they can understand and apply and see if they want to be a statistic then. That information could move them from 85% of failing marketers into the 15% that have learned to earn online.

Give the frustrated marketer the correct tools, which in this case is knowledge on search engine marketing along with some patient guidance and that frustrated marketer will become the fascinated marketer who can't believe it could be that easy to get listed in any search engine and to start a flow of never ending targeted traffic to their web site.

I was a frustrated marketer and so many of the people have met online were the same. The thing we had most in common, other than being a frustrated and somewhat desperate marketer, was the fact that we kept jumping from strategy to strategy without applying the right focus or giving the strategy the adequate time to succeed.

How many fish do you think you would catch if you put your line in the water long enough to get it wet and then yanked it back out again, moved to a new spot and started the process all over again. After a few fishing trips with no fish you would become frustrated too.

Marketing online is like fishing without keeping your line in the water, so your first lesson is to stay in the game until you have given adequate time to your strategy, whether you are fishing or marketing.

Another problem the frustrated marketer has to deal with is fishing with the wrong bait. All they catch are fish they need to through back because they are not the target species they are looking for. Your bait here, the keywords you use, need to attract the right fish. If you don't get it right you will be getting visitors, drawn by your bait, that just turn around and leave as soon as they arrive.

The next problem I picked up on was the fact that if you go fishing in your bath tub you will likely go hungry yet a lot of frustrated marketers are doing just that by not finding their right target group.

So like fishing if you don't do your research you will remain a frustrated fisher-person, or in this case, a frustrated marketer that scratches their head at the term, search engine marketing.

If this example of a frustrated marketer sounds a lot like you I am sorry to hear it, but there is a light at the end of tunnel, if you turn around and head in the right direction.

You have two roads you can take. The first can be expensive, but if you have been throwing your money away for quite a while it may be an option. That option would be to hire a search engine marketing specialist or expert. They can have you setup and receiving targeted traffic to your web pages in a very short time, but you do have to pay for that type of service. On the other hand...

You have a second road, which isn't paved and will take you quite a bit longer. That would be to learn search engine marketing for yourself. The downside to this method is the amount of time required. The upside is the fact that once you learn search engine marketing strategies that work you can apply them to any web page you want and it only costs you your time and not that hard earned cash.

The way I do it is with article marketing combined with list building. Now, the beautiful thing about article marketing, is that I don't have to go where they hang out. All I have to do is write articles that make sense to them. Upload them to the article directories, and then the article directories because of their own high search engine ranking ability, their high pay rank, the article directories themselves will get my articles where people hang out.

Not necessarily where people hang out but where people look. So for example if somebody's looking for information about natural health, let's say somebody's looking for information about natural health, I'm into natural health. Well, I can go about this 2 different ways, number 1 I can go hang out on all the natural health forums and the natural health blogs, and all of that. I can kind of hope I can pick up some visitors. The online article directories have the page rank to get me ranked high in the search engines, and then what happens is when somebody goes in and they search for a term like natural health or alternative health or natural health for my knee, or whatever they're thinking about, natural health, for example, then my article is going to come up really really high. So I sign up to get it, and after I click the confirmation link in the follow up email, I land on the sales page of a web hosting company and this looks like good info too. Don't get trapped milling around in the virtual crowd - stand out and get noticed by optimizing around the keywords that hold the most potential.

Once you've completed this critical research step, you will have identified the most potent keywords with which to write your press release. Now you're finally ready to start writing!

In its simplest form, article marketing is a type of advertising through which a business writes short articles related to its respective industry. Once written, the business makes these articles freely available for distribution and publication in the marketplace. Each article contains a 'bio box' and 'by-line' which include references and contact information for the author's business. Well written content articles released for free distribution have the potential of gaining the author business credibility within his or her market, as well as new clients.*

It is easy to see the value of article marketing, if you understand that each time the article is published, you get free backlinks from your author box. The articles are not likely to get published on PR 9 sites, but a hundred links from PR 0-5 sites can build your PageRank. The more articles you publish, the more links you get.

There are some, who think you should only submit your articles to a few of the best article directories. They usually argue that 1. doing otherwise is only a waste of time, or 2. submitting the same article to more directories increases the amount of duplicate content, and makes your article rank even worse in search engines.

Now, on 1. I agree: you should not waste your time with low traffic article indexes, but submit to any that you think will benefit you. I have compiled a list of the most important ones for you below. On 2. however, I must totally disagree. The articles, if successful, will be published identical on a number of sites. Submitting to more directories only helps publishers find them, search engines are not going to ban the content any more than otherwise. Besides, I see backlinks as the most important use of articles, and submitting to directories always gives at least one link. Secondary traffic through articles coming up in search engines is only a bonus.

Where to Submit Them?

1. ArticleMarketer.com

They send your article out to publishers on their list. Submission to the complete publisher list is a paid service, but you can submit to the partial list with a free account. The only problem I have with Article Marketer is that they do not show the exposure information to free publishers.

2. EzineArticles.com

The largest directory with the most authors. You can get a free account with 10 submissions. Submit good articles and you may get a platinum account with unlimited submissions.

3. ArticleCodex.com

A newer and smaller directory, but Article Codex offers Revenue Sharing. You enter your AdSense publisher id, and your ads are shown on 50% of page loads on your articles. Profit while marketing your website. Articles are quickly accepted, unless they fail some formatting test.

4. ArticlesBase.com

Not very different from all the other article directories out there, but submission is easy, and articles get accepted easily. They have accepted all my articles without modification, and in just a couple of days.
