One of the big debates when you start your home internet business is whether you should learn how to do SEO for your site yourself or hire a professional. There are advantages and disadvantages to both methods. In this article I would like to compare both situations.
If you are just starting out there probably is a very big chance that you do not have that much money to invest. Usually a professional company will charge in the region of at least $2000 a month. If you do not have this money to spend then your budget will force you to do this yourself. However, if you are starting with a fairly large budget and you have a very good idea with a lot of your own products to sell then this may be a good idea. Just make sure that you choose a reputable company. It will save you a lot of time if you do not have to do this yourself.
One of the big advantages of learning this is that you can build as many websites as you like without having to pay extra for additional optimization charges. Basically, you can build your own virtual real estate online. Look for profitable niche markets and then create your web site yourself. You can use a combination of affiliate links, Google Adsense advertising or create your own products.
However, one of the disadvantages is that you need to keep pace of the developments in the industry. What works today may not work in the future. This will require a massive investment of your time and interest. You can follow white hat strategies which will ensure your long term success like building a quality web site that people will want to link to. However, if you hit a problem like say for example you have a dynamic web site using a scripting language and all of the sudden your site gets dropped from the search engines you will be alone and struggle to get your rankings back if you do not know what to do.
I have briefly looked at the two paths that you can follow, however your decision will most likely be made by how much time and capital that you have to invest in your business.
Are you really interested in driving massive traffic to your website?

Writing and submitting articles on a regular basis can be a very time-consuming task. It can be also stressful and exhausting. Just imagine the overwhelming requirements; from putting your ideas to writing, considering SEO on your articles, targeting your client base, and finding publishing sites that can give your articles the exposure they deserve. So why on earth would you utilize it on your marketing campaigns? The answer is simple. It's because the technique really delivers. It improves your search engine standing, it connects you to your client base, and it promises you huge profits. In the end, your efforts will surely yield great rewards.
Here are the 4 powerful secrets to article marketing:
1. Write more articles. This is the surest way to grow your article marketing campaign. Write about topics that you are very knowledgeable about so you won't spend more time doing extensive research. When you write about topics that you are very familiar with, you can be more productive. Try to write 5-10 articles per day so you can generate at least 35 back links for your site per week.
2. Be organized. Maximize your time by carefully planning what you do and how you do it. For instance, if you are to submit your articles, list all the publishing sites so you don't have to search them online every time you submit your articles.
3. Pick the best publishing sites. Choose the ones that have quicker reviewing and posting time so your articles will be visible to your readers as soon as possible. Also, consider their page ranking; if they are not even showing up on the search result page, they won't do your campaign any good.
4. Submit regularly. To improve your online presence, I suggest that you submit articles every other day. By doing so, your readers have something to look forward to when they search your name for information.

Making Money with Your Blog!
A place for finding the Nuts and Bolts for Making Money Online with Affiliate Marketing Business Opportunity!
Like any industry, Internet Marketing has its own special marketing tools and methods. Many of these marketing tools may already be familiar to you: autoresponders, SEO software, link-building systems, content management programs, affiliate software... and the list goes on.
However, Internet Marketing has other more effective, non-traditional marketing tools every marketer should know about if they want to reach their full potential as online marketers. Some of these marketing tools come cleverly disguised or camouflaged, with many surfers or customers completely unaware that they're receiving a sales-pitch. Yet, these innocent and simple sales techniques are some of the most effective marketing tools on the web.
For anyone involved in Internet Marketing or for anyone wishing to become involved, a quick rundown of these marketing tools may prove helpful. Here's a brief list and a few pointers on how to effectively use these marketing tools.
1. Domain Name
Lets start at the very beginning. Your domain name should be considered your first Internet marketing tool. Pick it right and your domain name can also be your most effective marketing tool. Get it wrong and it may spell game over.
Most marketers agree you should pick a short memorable keyword-related domain name. For example, www.hotels.com, it's easy to remember/spell and it tells you exactly what the site is about. Picking a domain directly related to the keyword or keywords of your site will help greatly in obtaining a high ranking for your site with the search engines. Not to mention, it will be a great marketing and promotional tool, telling your potential customers exactly what your site is promoting and displaying.
On the other hand, some marketers suggest you opt for a short jazzy name that can be easily remembered by your visitors. Ebay, Google, Napster, Yahoo... regardless of which route you take, make sure you examine all the marketing potential before you pick your domain name. The right domain name can be one of your most effective marketing tools on the world wide web.
Many experts also suggest you only set up a dedicated server for your domain or domains. A dedicated server only carries one domain. Most hosting companies (for economic reasons) often share hosting servers, i.e. your domain is co-hosted with hundreds of other domains on the same server. Since you will be using the same IP address this may have dire consequences if one of the domains is accused of spamming or some other unscrupulous behavior. Even if you can't afford a dedicated server, it would be wise (for SEO purposes) to have a separate IP address for each domain you own. Most hosting companies provide this service for a small fee.
2. Keywords
Keywords, what surfers type into search engines to find what they're looking for, are the real building blocks of the web. They are the single most important element in any online marketing venture. Pick the right keywords and you're in business, pick the wrong keywords and again, it's game over.
Therefore, you must have special keyword software or use some online sites or services to help you pick the right keywords. Many top marketers use WordTracker.com, GoodKeywords.com, or the new Keyword Elite by Brad Callen. A superior keyword research product will supply valuable information: number of searches made each month, amount of competition and the top sites targeting your keywords.
Remember, you must target the right keywords with your site or online marketing. Targeted keywords draw targeted traffic (customers) to your sites or products. The right keyword software or program will have a direct correlation to the success or failure of your online marketing efforts. So choose wisely!
3. Articles
Many marketers believe in and rely upon purely organic SEO techniques for marketing their sites. One simple method of organic SEO is writing and submitting keyword related articles around the topic of your website with links back to your site. As other sites display your articles you gain valuable one-way links back to your site. Search engines then follow all of these links and rank your site highly for the keywords in these articles. For this reason the modest article may prove to be the single most important marketing tool you have in your arsenal.
As your site becomes highly ranked for these keywords, other sites will want to link to your site in order to become optimized for those same keywords... article keyword marketing is one of the most effective Internet marketing tools at your disposal. Used properly if can position your site in the search engines and bring in all that highly prized targeted traffic.
Keep in mind, many Internet marketers have side-stepped the whole SEO optimization process by going directly to search engines and buying their traffic with PPC pay-per-click advertising. Overture and Google Adwords program are good examples of this method. Marketers bid on clicks to their site's keywords and bring in targeted customers. In knowledgeable hands, PPC marketing is an extremely effective and lucrative marketing tool.
4. Lists
The backbone of any Internet marketing system is the list. It is another marketing tool you can't do without. The list is simply a large database of contacts, people who have given you permission to email or contact them. These are subscribers who have opted-in to your ezine or newsletter. Most successful marketers keep countless different databases for each product or topic they're targeting with their marketing.
Ezines or newsletters are vital Internet Marketing tools that no online business should ignore. It is essential you keep in contact/touch with your past and future customers. You must build an ongoing relationship and connection with your customers.
Besides your ezine or newsletter, many marketers also set up lists of affiliates to help promote and sell their products. Never underestimate the power of an affiliate system as an effective marketing tool. It is the stuff Empires are made of! Once a marketer has acquired a large list of loyal contacts or affiliates -- the flood waters open up. Opportunities for JVs or Joint Ventures with other online marketers make for serious cash flow.
5. Blogs And RSS Feeds
Blogging and RSS feeds have become essential marketing tools for savvy online marketers. Online journals or blogs are all the rage, especially in the marketing field. These blogging systems such as WordPress are great content management tools that will quickly build a content-rich site, pulling in targeted traffic from the search engines.
Search engines are enamored with blogs and RSS feeds mainly because blogs provide fresh content, the main lifeblood of every good search engine. For this reason no site should be without a blog and RSS feed, it will keep your content regularly visited and indexed by the search engines. In addition, all that information and content is a perfect tool for drawing potential customers to your products and services.
Along with your domains, lists, keywords, and articles -- blogs are effective marketing tools that will play an important role in the success of your online marketing. In the right hands, these Internet marketing tools can work magic on any company's bottom line. They are some of Internet Marketing's most effective tools.
You don't have to think outside of the box, you just have to know what makes up the box!

Three Things You Must Do Before You Submit To Article Directories
To all writers and non-writers out there, now is the time to start digging up those creative writing skills. With modern communication technology comes the popularity of information-based marketing, which is one of the oldest and most effective techniques in getting targeted prospects to sites and converting them into buyers. One of the secrets to building a reciprocal link network is by increasing the number of links pointing to your website. Incoming links to your website are important to search engines and are used to help determine your page rank. The more incoming links you have, then the higher your website is placed in Googles search results.
What most people do not know is that not all incoming links are given the same weight, and that the incoming, non reciprocal links are given more importance.
They are many ways to get inbound links to your site without having to give out reciprocal links or put out alot of cash. Here are just a few ideas.
* Good website content. You must make sure that your website is full of useful, informative content. When you have a lot of relevant content other website owners will want to link to your website because it will be a great resource to them and their visitors. Some examples of good content are ebooks, a newsletter, tools and software, free articles, tips that are related to your website, and a blog that is updated daily with new material.
Search engines and directories try to locate the websites that offer something valuable and unique to the Internet. People actually link to sites simply because they find the content useful.
* Testimonials. If you happen to find an interesting, informative website then send a testimonial to the website owner. They may give you a link to your website if they post your testimonial on their website. These links all add up and are important for search engine ranking.
* Online Directories. There are many online directories that you can submit your website to. This helps with getting inbound links to your site. Some of the directories require you to pay or provide a reciprocal link. But, there are many online directories that will accept your submission for free and with no reciprocal link.
Just do some research to determine which ones are free, or if you have the extra cash, go ahead and pay up (or you can send some my way).
* Content Articles. One of the best ways to get inbound links to your website is through article marketing. Interesting, informative, professionally written articles with the appropriate content can provide you with targeted traffic and high quality permanent links to your web site.
It is very important that your articles contain your targeted keywords and that they read well!
You can submit articles to websites, ezines, and article directories. An easy way to get your article published is to go to Google or Yahoo groups and do a search for "Internet Articles Publishing". Get involved with some of the groups, this will allow you to find websites that are looking for articles.
Do not forget to put information about yourself, with a link to your website in the resource box of the article, as this will open up the potential for many inbound links to your website. Articles can be the most time consuming of link building tasks when you take into consideration the time it takes to write and submit the article. A helpful tip is to make sure you add the locations of the article submission sites to a folder in your "Favorites". This will save time when you go to submit new articles.
* Free Ebook. Alot of people think that ebooks are hard to write and could take a long time to put together, but you can actually create one in no time. You can make it a collection of your favorite tools, resources and articles that are related to your website. As long as the ebook is considered useful by your visitors then they may link to your website for a copy or agree to offer your ebook on their website. Make sure you include links to your website in the ebook.
* Blogs. Combining a link-building campaign with blogs will give you alot of exposure for your business or program. Blogs are another tool that many entrepreneurs are using to produce great results. Because Blogs are updated with content on a regular basis they tend to rank higher then normal websites.
What most people don't realize is that Blogs are free and take just a few minutes to set up!
The easiest way to get inbound links with blogs is to simply host one on your website and update it frequently. Blogs are linked to more often because the content is being constantly updated. You will also get more inbound links with blogs when you submit it to blog directories. Do a search on Google for "free blog directory" and you will find many directories that you can submit to for free.
* Host a free article directory. Why not create an article directory on your website and have visitors submit articles to it? You can then request a link back to your website in exchange for the article submission. This will improve your inbound links while also creating free content for your website.
* Get listed in the major directories. Yahoo and the Open Directory Project are two of the most important directories at present. The Open Directory Project is free but it can be difficult to get a listing approved because they only list sites with original content that do not have alot of affiliate links. Inclusion in the Open Directory Project and Yahoo is well worth the effort and will be very helpful in boosting the standing for your site in search engine results.
There are also many smaller directories that are set up for particular areas of interest. Getting listed in them will take some time, but persistence will pay off, not only in your search engine page ranking but in bringing targeted traffic to your website. A few visitors to your website that are interested in what you have to offer are more valuable then many uninterested visitors.
It is also important to make sure that any sites you link to are related to your topic. You can use search engines to find related sites, and by linking to sites that have a high page ranking in the search engines you will provide your site with more exposure.
Remember that non reciprocal links are more important for search engine ranking because they are not reciprocated (search engines can actually detect whether links are reciprocal) and they do not have to be monitored as reciprocal links.
Here's one last tip, do a search on the keywords that you want to improve your search engine ranking for. From these results use the domains of the sites that rank above your own, and go to Yahoo and enter, linkdomain:www.site that rank above yours.com. Contact the web sites that resulted from the linkdomain search and ask them to link to your site. Do this for each of the linkdomain searches.
The ideas above offer the most consistently over time and even though they may seem time consuming, are well worth the effort.
I wish you success in building your inbound link network, and even though it will take time and effort, done right, the rewards will be worth it!

Making Money with Your Blog!
A place for finding the Nuts and Bolts for Making Money Online with Affiliate Marketing Business Opportunity!
In internet marketing, article marketing, great sales pages and great marketing emails it turns out the best written are not truly created, they are swiped.
You have probably heard the term, but what does it mean? Is it okay to just copy someone else's work and call it your own? No! That would be stealing. What you can do is copy the style of a given marketing piece.
Here is what I mean. Let's say there is a great headline like "Allergy Sufferers! Don't suffer one minute more!" Okay, I just made that up as an example. Assume that this headline has been wildly successful. You "swipe" it and change it to accommodate your target market. "Arthritis Sufferers! Don't suffer one second more!"
That is what is called a "swipe." It's not the exact same wording. It is different. However, it does copy the style of the headline.
Now that you understand what a swipe is, lets move on to creating the ultimate swipe file.
The easy thing to do is to go to the office supply store and purchase a large 3 ring binder and at least one set of 8 tabs. Mark your tabs for emails, email subject lines, headlines, sales letters, power words, squeeze pages, upsell (pages that attempt to get you to buy another product) thank you pages, and misc.
Now begin to study marketing. You now get to quit throwing out all that spam you get. It's now market research. Which emails succeed in getting you to read them? If you open a spam email, that email now goes in your "email subject lines" section of your binder.
If you actually read the email you just opened, you print it and put it into your "emails" section of your swipe file.
Carrying this analogy forward, if you purchase something and the sales letter convinced you to buy, it goes in the "sales letters" section. If you give up your name and email address and join someone's list, print the page and put it into your "squeeze page" section.
Last, if you hear about a marketing campaign that pulls in large amounts of money, print out all the associated marketing materials and place them in your swipe binder.
Over time you will develop a resource that will help you to write better and better copy that sells. So don't wait for inspiration. Create a resource that will inspire you each and every time you sit down to write sales and marketing copy.

Making Money with Your Blog!
A place for finding the Nuts and Bolts for Making Money Online with Affiliate Marketing Business Opportunity!
The key to success, when it comes to Affiliate Marketing is to find the best affiliate markets. Most newbies starting out in Internet Marketing tend to promote any old product, choosing a niche purely for its large commissions. This is like firing a gun into the air and hoping to hit a duck. To do well in Affiliate marketing, it's extremely important that you do a little research before you begin and FIND YOUR NICHE!
Why find a niche?
A niche market contains businesses and products that are of the same type so the potential customers of a particular niche can be easily identified and targeted with precision.
By knowing your 'type' of customer, you can better understand their buying habits and more importantly, what they will type into the Google search bar when they come looking for the product or service that you are promoting.
How do I know which are the best affiliate markets?
1. Find a niche product or service that you know will sell well
This will greatly improve your chances of success. Look at the merchant's landing page, whether it be a sales or a product page. Read it through and ask yourself if the sales pitch is compelling enough. Would you click through and buy this product if you landed on this page?
2. Define your niche market
Is there sufficient demand for your product or service? If you choose a popular product, there will be lots of competition competition. It may be difficult to stand out amongst a sea of search engine results that are offering the same thing. Remember though that you can always take a niche angle on a popular product. For example, instead competing with the keyword "toyota" you'd be far better off going for "toyato echo 3 door hatch back".
3. Keyword research
This is the most important step in finding the best affiliate markets. Get your hands on a good keyword tool, the initial investment will pay off exponentially in the long term. The first step is to use the keyword software to find out how many people are searching for your chosen keywords. If there is a good number of say over 500 per month, then you know that your product might be worth promoting. Now, using your keyword software again, you can find out how many results turn up in the search engines for this exact keyword. This is your 'natural results' competition. You can also check your 'sponsored' results competition by typing the keyword into Google and looking on the right hand side to see if any advertisers are displaying pay per click ads. If the natural results are under say 30000, then this would indicate a perfect opportunity for you to promote your product using SEO techniques along with article submissions. If the sponsored results are few (as the cost per click is low), then it would also be worthwhile to run a PPC campaign. The advantage that you will have using a Keyword Tool is that it will suggest to you keywords that you may never have thought of. You will be able to find some very specific keywords that have a lot of searches each month but with little or no competition!
If you haven't already got a Keyword Tool, then I highly recommend you head over to http://www.Keyword-Elite-Market-Finder.com - using this software is by far the easiest way to find the best affiliate markets and to know for sure whether an affiliate product is worth promoting or not.

Article marketing is a very lucrative way that you can earn a living online without spending any money advertising. However, it is time intensive to write the articles. If you have not yet succeeded with other methods of advertising then try this and you will have a much better chance of making it online.
In this article I would like to go over some techniques that will help you to get the most out of the bio that you create. This is one of the most overlooked aspects of article marketing that many marketers fail to maximize their results in the bio.
The very first step is to create a squeeze page and include the link for your squeeze page in the bio. The primary goal of the traffic you get to your web site is to capture email addresses so that you can market over and over again to your targeted prospects.
It is very important that you include your 30 second elevator pitch in your bio. This is the sales pitch that you need to give or your unique selling proposition. Your reader of your article will make up their mind in a few seconds whether they will visit your web site. So it is very important to make a good impression.
Also it is very important not to put your link too far away from the start of the paragraph. People read from left to right. So if you bury your link then there will be less chance that they will actually click on it.
Finally, if you offer a free ebook for download more people will take you up on your offer as this is seen as more valuable than a free report.

If you write articles to market your web site, then you know how much time you need invest to make it worthwhile. Most site owners use article directories to distribute their articles however this limits the amount of traffic you can receive. If this resource dries up and is no longer effective it will cut into your profits. Therefore don't place all your eggs in one basket by just using one resource.
1. Your own web site or blog
I always add articles to my web site first then wait for the search engines to spider the web page. This ensures the web page containing the article will be ranked first in the search engines so I can capture the most visitors. If you submit your article elsewhere first that site will rank ahead of your own. This means you will miss out on garnering the most traffic.
2. Complimentary web sites
Contact web site owners that have similar content to your own. Offer them your content making sure they include the live links in your resource box so you receive the benefit of an incoming link. You can find some of these sites at ezine directories where site owners have indicated they want to receive articles from others.
3. Ezine directories
If you already send out a regular ezine or newsletter that includes your newly written content, then be sure to also submit it to ezine or newsletter directories.
Here's a list of the top twenty ezine directories:
http://ezines.nettop20.com/
4. Printed version
Visitors to your web site don't often have time to read all your articles but may print them out for reading later. You can offer a printed version by converting it to a PDF file. A PDF file is the most browser friendly file because it will print correctly for any type of computer.
5. Social bookmarketing sites
These sites allow users to search, share, organize, and store bookmarks of different web pages. Below is a list of social book marketing sites you can submit to:
Social book marketing sites that don't use the nofollow tag (a tag which allows them to get spidered)
http://www.searchenginejournal.com/social-bookmarking-sites-which-dont-use-nofollow-bookmarks-and-search-engines/5985/
6. Reports and E-books
Take 10 articles you have written on a specific topic to create a short report. If you have many articles, compile them into an ebook. The report or ebook can be distributed to ebook directories or offered as a free download for subscribing to your ezine. You can also offer them to web site owners in exchange for a link to their web site. If you wish make money from the content within your ebook or report, include links back to your site, affiliate programs or other products.
7. Video and Audio
Not all people like to read content online. Modifying your content by creating a video or audio will help reach a wider audience. For example almost everyone is familiar with YouTube videos. Place the content of your article into a video file then upload it to youtube using your best keywords. When users do a search for those keywords your video may appear. 8. RSS Feeds and Directories
RSS stands for "really simple syndication". People use RSS readers or news aggregators to obtain a summary of the articles on your web site or blog. This enables them to quickly discern what ones they wish to read.
Most blogs (ie Word Press) have RSS feeds built in and automatically ping the main RSS directories. If you don't have an RSS feed for your web site create one manually (http://www.isitebuild.com/rss/rss-feed.htm). Submitting your RSS feeds to the main RSS directories is another way to increase the amount of visitors to your site because you created another method to distribute your content.

Making Money with Your Blog!
A place for finding the Nuts and Bolts for Making Money Online with Affiliate Marketing Business Opportunity!
Many article marketers complain that they don't have enough TIME in a day to devote to building their web based business with articles. Follow along for some instant article motivation that will change the way you think about writing articles for the web.
A few days ago, some of my network members who took the Article Marketing Survey expressed TIME, specifically not having enough of it in a day, as a hindrance to their article output.
I am well-familiar with this issue, and let me say this:
We always have time for the things we want to do. If you're the type who jumps out of bed, hits the shower and puts on a fresh outfit before starting your work day, but I on the other hand loaf around in sweats until 2 pm (this is hypothetical- of course I dress to kill every morning) - does this mean that YOU have the time for a morning dressing routine but I don't?
No. It means you've made putting your freshly showered self into some clean clothes a morning priority, while I have not.
Likewise: If I've made article writing a part of my daily ritual, but you haven't... does that mean I have more time to write articles than you?
No. It means I've made articles a priority, while you still have not.
So, the trick, first and foremost, is to set the "article marketing" as a PRIORITY rather than a distant goal that you're forever procrastinating.
How do you treat the major priorities in your life? You know they must get done, so you fit them in... right?
You don't *not send your kids off to school each morning* because that isn't on your priority list. You know that no matter what your day holds or how busy you are, "taking the kids to school" must get done. So you get it done.
Likewise, you can *squeeze in* your article production when you know "it must get done". How? Write your articles on the fly.
Question: "How do you 'schedule' your article marketing?"
Answer: You simply *look for the article* in every piece of content you create.
What's content? Emails you've sent colleagues. Your network posts. Your blog entries. That conversation you had with yourself in the shower. That talk you wanted to have with someone who wasn't there when you called them up.
I typed out a helpful tutorial the other day for a friend who's updating her website. When I was done, I asked myself, "Where's the article?"
It was right there, in the tutorial.
So I grabbed it, virtual-sprinted over to EzineArticles.com and pasted it into the submission box. Checked it over to make sure there were no personal references to my friend in there, edited out a few spots that sounded too casual, double checked to ensure "that article tone" was in place, popped in the author bio and hit SUBMIT.
How long did that take, ten extra minutes of my work day?
You can do the same - just slip the article right in.
Every time you create content, ask yourself, "Where's the article?"
It's right there!
Want to know what else could be preventing you from submitting more articles?
Your article expectations may be too high.
The Two Most Important Reasons an Internet Marketer Must Write Articles:
1. To generate word matches on the search engines
2. To connect mentally with real live humans who want to view you as a credible source.
(Oh, by the way? If you sell on the internet, you're an internet marketer. Start thinking of yourself as one. There are many more of us out here!)
The search engines are hungry, so you must keep throwing them little article snacks. These types of articles are just filler, if you will. It helps to stop thinking of them as articles but more like FREE ADS, or mini bites of content. Your mini bite articles should contain lots of buzz words that are part of your target market - because... why? THEY ARE YOUR MARKETING.
There will be times, of course, when you really feel something powerful coming on and that means a more in-depth article. One that maybe you'd like to see picked up on a prestigious website, or you'd feature as the cover story in your ezine. These articles are not the quick-article-in-a-day variety, unless of course you're the Bionic Article Marketer.
One of my better articles, that definitely took some time to write and many edits, was this one:
11 Reasons Not to Hire a Freelance Copywriter (And Why They're All Poor Excuses!
Of course I would never expect that an article like this one would fly out of you spontaneously on a daily basis. Rather, in the same way that your brain saves up all those little thoughts over time and then suddenly produces an article masterpiece, you want to save the bigger, better articles for the times when you'd really like to impress someone. Perhaps a future client, business partner, editor of a magazine that you'd like to write for, or some other such individual.
So, to wrap up this article tutorial:
If you want to get in the habit of cranking out articles, wake up tomorrow with a head full of fresh ideas, and set your mind to the task of writing whatever content you plan on creating.
When you're done, step back and look at your work again
Where's the article?
THERE IT IS! Go post it. Then move on to your next task.
See how easy that was?

Three Things You Must Do Before You Submit To Article Directories

How will you promote your website in 2008? Will you be buying links in 2008? Are you aware of the benefits of article marketing? As the title of this article suggests, writing articles as a way of promoting a website is suddenly back in fashion.
As recently as the beginning of last year, webmasters were able to basically buy their way to the top of the search engine rankings but Google have now put a stop to this via their war on paid links campaign. People are now running scared of even exchanging web links and so article marketing yet again has come back into the limelight. This is one form of web promotion that not only works but is here to say.
If you would like to see your website obtain higher rankings for its keywords and ultimately gain more traffic, then I would seriously advise you to commence writing articles.
You can write about any subject however content that is related to your website would be preferable. The article should be at least two hundred and fifty words in length, in truth the majority of article directories would rather them have between four and five hundred words. The article needs to be your own work; unique and fresh content is very much sought after at the moment.
You can then submit the article to one or more of the main article directories/websites. My favourite is EzineArticles, others include goarticles, searchwarp, articledashboard and ideamarketers.
Submitting two or three articles will not have too much impact however submitting three hundred will.
I wish you all the best with your web promotion in 2008, happy writing.

Been working on your website? I hope so. This powerful information I'm giving you will only be useful if you're applying it to your website. Don't make the mistake of 90% of people out there trying to make money online but failing to do so.
The methods I'm teaching you work! I've used them with countless clients across many different industries. And, time and time again, they worked! These methods got websites ranking on the first pages of the search engine results.
Don't you want to be there too?
Check out this free tool from Yahoo. Yahoo has one of the best free keyword tools available for conducting keyword research. Search for this phrase: overture inventory tool. You should be able to find it quite easily.
It is such a popular tool that occasionally the Yahoo keyword server can't handle all the requests. So if you load the page and get an error message, simply hit refresh on your browser until you get to the keyword selector tool.
Now enter one of your keyword terms in the box and hit the blue triangle key. After a brief time, you'll be presented with a list of similar keywords and the number of times that keyword phrase was searched for during a specified period of time.
If you combine this info with a manual search on the search engines, you get a pretty good idea what your competition looks like for any given keyword phrase. Start with the less competitive keywords and, as your website builds in popularity, move on to the more competitive phrases. What do you do with this information? When developing the content of your website, you want to focus each page around two or three different keyword phrases. Simply pick the most popular keyword phrase that fits your website's purpose. Then, as you compose the text of your web pages, include those phrases naturally throughout your content.
The most crucial places to include these keyword phrases are in the title of the web page in the headings (h1, h2, etc), and in the regular content. It's good to make the keyword phrases bold when they appear in the content. Also, when you create your links from page to page, make sure you the link text is one of your keyword phrases as well.
Don't simply repeat the phrase over and over. Google will actually penalize you for such repetition. Include the phrase as smoothly and naturally as possible throughout the page.
Good luck, and keep at it!

Viral marketing is a methods of list building
There are multiple methods of list building, and if you are just getting started, until you have gained mastery over one or two methods, it is advisable to use multiple methods of list building strategies. You’ll see every step of the process, no matter how small, in exacting detail so
Web site owners come to us for training with many backgrounds. Some are very technical and excel with competitive intelligence. Some have a design background and can relate to designing a site that is user friendly. All understand and can implement basic search engine optimization. But my greatest challenge is to teach everyone (even those who say they can not write) how they can take article marketing and leverage the Internet to their full advantage.
Just as the saying from Donnie and Marie (yes that's aging me) "She's little bit county, and he's little bit rock and roll" I look at Article Marketing the same way, "It's partly science and a little bit art and persistence."
From the very first step of writing an article to the very last of seeing it get indexed I have come up with an 8 step combination to ensure article marketing success.
Let's begin with...
Step #1 - Keyword Research - As with any new SEO project I start, keyword research is my most valuable step. I always look for keywords that have low competing pages and a high KEI (Keyword Effectiveness Index.) My program of choice is Wordtracker. Many of the most successful articles I've written start with a keyword I have found in my research phase and then I write an article around my findings. Finding those phrases that result in brining industry related traffic to your site is half the battle.
Step #2 - Writing the Article - Even if you think you can not write an article follow these few guidelines and you will easily have a 400 - 600 word article in front of you within a very short time. Author, Robin Nobles taught me this outline for writing an article many years ago and I still use it every time I sit down to write for my Web site.
1. Before starting to write, list the topics you want to cover.
2. Take each topic and detail them out individually.
3. Organize the topics by importance.
4. Make a smooth transition from one topic to the next
5. Your first paragraph should be a summary of what the article is about.
6. Use bulleted lists and plenty of white space.
7. Every article should have a beginning, middle and an end.
8. Include that ah-ah moment. I try to keep in mind that those who take time to read my articles are looking to learn something so I include something that will make them glad they read what I had to say.
Step #3 - Search Engine Optimization - Up until now my only concern is to write an article that provides real value to my reader. Now I take the article and concentrate on optimizing for my keyword phrases. Keeping in mind that my title tag is the most important element of my article I try to make it compelling and always include my keyword phrase in it. I also add my keyword phrase to my Meta tags, check my keyword weight, H1 tags and link text within the body of the article.
Step #4 - Proofing - I know most of you think this is a no brainier but it is so important. Any article I write I put it aside for a couple days and go back to it. I also have someone proof it for me before I start marketing it. I always read everything I write out loud and if I stumble on any words I can be sure my readers will stumble on them as well.
Step #5 - Web Site Publishing - Now I am ready to publish it to my Web site being sure I have added a link to my site map as well as linking it from another page on my site linking it to a page that relates to the same topic as the new article.
Step #6 - Blogging - I use my blog as my ace in the whole. Search Engines love the freshness of blogs and will visit your blog on daily or weekly basis if they see you're constantly adding new posts. I name my blog post using the same keyword phrase in my blog title as in my article and write only a snippet of the article on my blog pointing back to the full article on my site.
Step #7 - Upload to Article Marketing Web Sites - I have a list of my favorite article marketing sites that I use on a regular basis and I submit my article to each one of them every time I finish one. Here is my favorite list:
BusinessKnowHow.com
ArticleDashboard.com
Buzzel.com
ArticleBiz.com
EzineArticles.com
ArticleCity.com
ArticleAlley.com
Step #8 - Social Media Marketing - I start this step by pinging my blog post through a service such as Autopinger.com. Then since there are so many Social Media Marketing avenues available today on the Internet I did a lot of testing to see exactly what sites I could see some viable results from. From my testing I came up with a handful of SMM sites that I regularly submit my articles to. Let me share them with you:
Digg.com
Del.icio.us
Reddit.com
Scribd.com
Sphinn.com
Propeller.com
Step #9 - Bonus Listing - A couple months ago I found a new Social Media Site "Squidoo." I read the guidelines and created a lens concentrating on my keyword phrase. Now every time I complete an article I create a new lens in my Squidoo account focused around my articles keywords.
One of my hard to get keyword phrases has 314,000 competing pages and within a month my lens focused keyword phrase on Squidoo was index on page two and above the actual article on my Web site using the same phrase.
These are the steps I use each and every time I write for the Web. My whole goal is to monopolize the Internet with my industry related topics opening as many windows into my site as possible.
Its' not all about just your Web site anymore! The combination is changing every day and in order to keep ahead you must adapt to finding ways to open multiple vaults into your site every day. Article Marketing will help identify you as an expert in your field and give you instant creditability with your readers.

If you plan on marketing online, you're sure to hear the term Search Engine Optimization(SEO). So what is Search Engine Optimization? Search Engine Optimization is the practice of using various tools and methods to make your site rank higher on a list of search engine results.
Before a site can appear in search results, the search engines must index it. This is accomplished by a search robot visiting the site, analyzing it, and storing relevant information in the search engine database. Once indexed, the site can be displayed in search results. Search engines cannot display a site they have no information on. Some simple steps to get your site known by the search engines are:
1. Choose keywords and keyword phrases that accurately describe your site and that your target market will use to find your services.
2. Use those keywords and phrases throughout the content of your site.
3. Place links back to your site from other sites that are relevant to your keyword phrases.
There are many other ways to get search engines to learn about a new site and it would be well worth your efforts to learn all that you can about search engine optimization. A well designed, informative site that cannot be found holds no value. The unknown is essentially nonexistent. Think about it, have you ever bought a product you didn't know existed? Have you ever visited a place you never heard of? To be successful online you must find ways to give your site an online presence.
Search Engine Optimization has many aspects to it and requires work and persistence to attain the full benefits. However, the benefits are many and well worth your efforts. Some of the benefits worth mentioning are:
1. Online presence
2. Increased targeted traffic - Traffic - Traffic and more Traffic
3. Higher conversion rates
4. Higher rankings give you more credibility
5. Increased visibility - Global audience
6. High ROI - return on investment
Search engines are the most widely used internet tool to find information, products and/or websites. However, most people who use search engines rarely make it past the first page and many only look at the top half of the first page. Getting yourself on the first page and better yet on the top half of the first page, will make your site's presence be known and subsequently generate more traffic that could lead to potential income and business. Search engines attract extremely targeted traffic. The visitor who finds your site through a search engine is already actively looking for exactly what you provide and therefore more prone to make the click to see how you can be of service to them.
Search engine optimization is a method of online marketing that should not be overlooked and included in every online marketer's portfolio. Traffic is a key factor to online success and search engine optimization will definitely get your website targeted traffic.

Article marketing can help you position yourself as an expert on your chosen niche by simply writing and syndicating your articles. However, with so many webmasters using this technique, it becomes harder and harder to get online users' interest much more to keep a hold of it. If you are an article marketer who is wishing to get ahead of the pack, these 4 nifty methods will help you breakthrough with article marketing:
1. Use catchy titles. To give your articles an edge, you must learn how to give them titles that will instantly spark an interest among online users. You can easily do this by making sure that your titles are attention-grabbing, keyword-rich, concise, brief, and most of all they must be able to communicate the benefit they can offer the potential readers and the central idea to which the article revolves.
2. Provide only unique and original content. To stand out from the rest, make sure that you offer information that is not commonly found on other sites. By doing so, you will instantly be regarded as great source of information and you will surely establish great readership in no time.
3. Be consistent. In order for online users to acknowledge your existence in the World Wide Web, they must constantly see your name on various websites that talks about your specialized niche. You can easily do this by consistently writing articles and posting them on sites that are frequented by your potential readers.
4. Be accurate. One of the qualities of an expert is his ability to deliver factual information. You don't want to mislead your readers, do you? So, it is of outmost importance that you have sources to back up all your claims so your articles will appear more credible and believable.
